I bought my IBM used a couple of years ago and it owed me nothing when it so totally DIED on me this week. I went to Fran's 'GUY' and bought a used Dell and he slipped my HD into it so I had access to all my stuff, except my son set up the IBM with a profile for each of us and guess what I can't access... that's right MY STUFF!! All my cross stitch files, patterns, chart packs etc are on it and when I try to access it, I get Access Denied! FML!!!!! Tomorrow I have to take it back and see if he can burn all my files to disk and all Joe's to another disk or find out how to have access to those files so needed!
It is amazing I was going to burn my files to disk just the other day and decided I would do it while I was off this week, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the computer Gods did not see it that way.
Ok, I get the hint BACK UP on a regular basis is what it is going to be from now on!
Now back to your usual scheduled programming.... beep

If you buy a mac it comes with time machine that is awesome for backups. ;)
I do hope they can get your new 'puter working though!
Oh Sherry you made me laugh this morning! No I am not laughing at you, but with you. We are always going to back up our files, tomorrow. Then BAM it is to late. I have learned that when something tells me to do something, it needs to be done then. Why oh why, don't we listen to our inner self? It would save us so much time and stress. Wishing you get to your files!
