PBP 2012 week 8 Dd Divination

Divination, this could be a very long blog as I use my pendulum almost daily, pull a tarot card for guidance each day, carry certain stones for different meanings... there is so much to divination, I could go on and on.  I have been drawn to Animal symbolism lately and the decks I have didn't seem to be helping me much so visiting a friend's shop she had a deck of Animal Spirit Knowledge cards so I purchased them.  Everyday I played with this deck and got nothing from it, well nothing that was looking for, so I asked my beautiful chevron amethyst pendulum that I work with every day if I needed a new deck of cards and she said yes, so I asked do I still need to have more Animal magick in my life, and again it was yes.  So off to a different 'occult' store as it is called and as soon as I walked in the door I started rubbing my hands together without noticing I was doing it.  The lovely lady behind the counter, I am horrible with names, asked me what I was looking for and I said I was just browsing and she said, no you are looking for something LOL I love witches!  So I told her I was looking for a new tarot or oracle deck and she and I looked at the cabinet that held hundreds of decks. Apparently I was still rubbing my hands together, so she said Sherry take a look through the binders on the counter, close your eyes and just use your hands to run above but over each page until I felt anything.  So I did, she marked each page with sticky notes and she had me do this with 3 binders full of pages, of what I didn't know but trusted her energy so I went with it.  When I felt something, she would not only put a sticky on the page but ask me how strong the tingle or heat or whatever I felt from the page was and she marked it down.  2 of the binders were a bust but the 1 that I did feel a number of vibrations up my arm, or warmth from had 4 pages that spoke to me.  So I then opened my eyes and looked at the cards and 3 were animal decks and 1 was on archangels. I laughed and said I could only afford to pick up 1 deck so I walked around, checked out some new book arrivals, smelt some pretty oils and candles and although I have been in this shop at least 50 times or more at the end of the one counter I have always been drawn.  Now this counter has many stones under glass and wonderful incense on the top so I figured that was what it was or maybe the Goddess statue for 29.99 on the wall or perhaps the tiny cauldrons... NO the woman walked over and said you always stop in this area every time you come in and put her hand up on the wall shelf and there was the deck of cards that had sent a strong and wonderful vibration up my arm!  I never laughed so hard, I was almost in tears from laughter... She handed me this box of cards called Animal Dreaming Oracle cards  by Scott Alexander King.  I felt like I had found my Cards.  I started reading the book before looking at the cards, and loved it immediately!  They are done by Elements which is my BIG thing for some reason.
Oracle Cards
So when I woke up I did the first spread in the book, it was a 5 card spread, read the meaning of each spot and then the card, btw the artist that did the cards was surely blessed by the Gods and Goddess' as each card is STUNNING!  So when my best friend and I were out joining a gym on Thursday I purchased a brand new journal so that each day I can do one of the spreads and record my findings.  I can proudly state that I have the right deck for me now and I am going to learn everything I can about the Animal magick I need in my life and have a record of my journey with these beautiful and insightful cards!

~~ May Goddess hold you tight as you dream and your Animal spirits, Spirit Guide and Angels keep you safe as you journey through this life ~~ Blessings ~~

LAUGHTER at the Witches Source

Saw this on Twitter this morning and HAD to post it!! Too Funny!
Highlighted the ones that are very close to me!
The following is a question asked on Yahoo Answers. The comments reflect the views of the individual and not the website as a whole.

Question:
Fifty sure-fire ways to detect paganism without having to resort to a dunking stool or wart-inspection.
1) Never puts any rubbish out on refuse-collection day. I mean, re-cycling and composting is fine, but you can take it too far.

2) You casually ask what phase the moon is in, and she tells you down to the exact number of days, hour and minute of rising, position on horizon, and current angle of declination.

3) All the stray cats in the neighbourhood tend to congregate in her garden (and use your own as their litter).

4) A screech owl has chosen the lamp-post outside her house as its favorite calling-post. That’s just when it’s getting warm at night aand you like to sleep with the window open.

5) Doesn’t cut down the weeds in her garden; in fact it looks more like she’s cultivating them. Needless to say, you get the seeds wafting over onto your pristine lawn.

6) Most of her clothes on the washing line are black.

7) The local kids talk in whispers as they go past her house, then start running at the last moment.

8) Nobody trick-or-treats her house; not after the incident when the kids’ costumes were less scary than hers when she opened the door to them. (She was embracing the Crone that year no doubt!)

9) Footprints on the roof. And the trees in her flight-path have been pruned down. I swear it’s true!

10) She can’t even make a simple sandwich without adding fresh herbs to it. And don’t ask her for a cup of tea unless you want something yellow coloured and smelling of flowers.

11) She hardly ever gets junk mail. You ask her what her secret is and she confides that she returns it to sender after writing something on in strange curly writing.

12) When you pop next door for a chat, the kettle is always already on.

13) The Jehovah’s Witnesses never call (not anymore; not after the ast time .

14) Keeps the local scented-candle shop solvent.

15) Has a pond full of frogs (and you haven’t seen that bothersome double-glazing salesman around for a while).

16) She’s always smiling, darn her!

17) She goes dressed as normal to a Hallowe’en fancy dress party; and wins first prize.

18) Her house always smells of incense.

19) Has named her four cats Hecate, Kali, Diana, and Moonbeam. (Or her rats Devon and Cornwall)

20) Her bumper sticker reads “I brake for toads”.

21) Frequently gets raided by the drug squad who confiscate large amounts of dried green leaves; they always return them with apologies after analysis.

22) At Christmas, it seems like half the garden has been moved into the house.

23) You sometimes hear the sound of singing and dancing through the wall. If you look out of the window, it is usually a full moon.

24) She was given a bodhram drum for her birthday. And she plays it at midnight in the fields. And she’s got a blasted tamborine.

25) You discover that her realistic resin skull ornament in her living room, actually is real.

26) You catch her washing a crystal ball along with the dishes.

27) She wears a lot of silver jewelry, even when doing the gardening.  And bat ear-rings for goodness-sake.

28) You knock on her door and she answers it naked except for a toweling robe. You apologize for disturbing her in the bath, but notice that her hair isn’t wet.

29) Irritating tendency to hum a lot. What’s she got to be so happy about, huh?

30) She has a tame robin that will eat from her hand in the garden.  That can’t be natural.

31) Never catches a cold, even though she walks barefoot most of the time. In the snow as well.

32) Doesn’t kill spiders. Not even big hairy long-legged ones that suddenly appear from the waste-pipe whilst you’re having a bath.

33) She listens to what you are saying like she really cares.

34) She has lots of female friends who come round every few months.  When you ask what they get up to, she tells you that they just have cakes and ale and a good natter.

35) You catch her hugging a tree.

36) Her dinner-set is decorated with Celtic patterns.

37) She has a mail-order account with a semi-precious gem wholesaler.

38) You notice that the parish priest crosses himself whenever he walks past her house.

39) She never watches television. And she has shelves full of books with black spines and silver-lettered titles.

40) To your certain knowledge she has never set foot in the local church. In fact, you have heard rumours that she has been barred from it.

41) She makes jars of quince and mandrake relish for the Women’s Institute coffee morning jumble sale.

42) You ask to borrow a pack of cards for an impromptu bridge evening, and there are 78 in the pack.

43) You have never known her to visit her GP.

44) When you talk with her, she maintains eye contact all the time.

45) Expectant mothers are forever visiting her. Also women who become expectant mothers a month after visiting her.

46) You ask her for suggestions for nice walks in the area, and they all go by way of stone circles and strange earth mounds.

47) She only buys organic. And you just bet that she’s a vegetarian as well. (Well, maybe not stricly vegetarian.. ..)

48) When you ask her about her vacation plans, she tells you she will be camping in a tee-pee in the Brecon Beacons.

49) There aren’t any mirrors in her house. Or clocks.

50) She tells you that she is coming out of the broom closet, joins Witches’ Voice, and erects a stained-glass pentacle window in her front door . Ooo what a give-away!

Do you have a connection, link with anyone??

Today I feel a little better.
Didn't end up going to the woods in the park last night, thought it might be a bit dangerous alone.
However Fran gave me shit for something I deserved, and I feel better LOL  We have a scary link sometimes and yesterday's funk could have been from her being pissed off for making her worry the day before.  After we talked this morning I was fine, go figure!  And the strange get stranger lol
So here is to a new week and a new outlook
I AM going to make it to the woods this weekend on my time off, going to hangout with my camera near the water and ask the Gods to at least have a breeze blowing!
I have started crocheting a baby blanket, knitted up the back of a baby sweater and started a front for 2 special people at work and last night I started stitching up this lovely litte pattern I will scan it when I finish it because as of now I am off to bed, have to work tonight!

~~May Goddess bless you with Love and Light in your travels today and everyday~~

It is true I need to Iron and Re Scan this finish, but couldn't wait to surprise someone with it!!
This took more trys than I care to admit too, however it was so worth it in the end and is simple enough to not take away from what the finish product will be, but has enough detail you know what it is.

Imbolc Lore

Imbolc is one of the four principal festivals of the Celtic calendar, celebrated among Gaelic peoples and some other Celtic cultures, either at the beginning of February or at the first local signs of Spring. Most commonly it is celebrated on February 1, which falls halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox in the northern hemisphere.

Imbolc Lore (February 2nd)

Imbolc, (pronounced "IM-bulk" or "EM-bowlk"), also called Oimealg, ("IM-mol'g), by the Druids, is the festival of the lactating sheep. It is derived from the Gaelic word "oimelc" which means "ewes milk". Herd animals have either given birth to the first offspring of the year or their wombs are swollen and the milk of life is flowing into their teats and udders. It is the time of Blessing of the seeds and consecration of agricultural tools. It marks the center point of the dark half of the year. It is the festival of the Maiden, for from this day to March 21st, it is her season to prepare for growth and renewal. Brighid's snake emerges from the womb of the Earth Mother to test the weather, (the origin of Ground Hog Day), and in many places the first Crocus flowers began to spring forth from the frozen earth.

The Maiden is honored, as the Bride, on this Sabbat. Straw Brideo'gas (corn dollies) are created from oat or wheat straw and placed in baskets with white flower bedding. Young girls then carry the Brideo'gas door to door, and gifts are bestowed upon the image from each household. Afterwards at the traditional feast, the older women make special acorn wands for the dollies to hold, and in the morning the ashes in the hearth are examined to see if the magic wands left marks as a good omen. Brighid's Crosses are fashioned from wheat stalks and exchanged as symbols of protection and prosperity in the coming year. Home hearth fires are put out and re-lit, and a besom is place by the front door to symbolize sweeping out the old and welcoming the new. Candles are lit and placed in each room of the house to honor the re-birth of the Sun.

Another traditional symbol of Imbolc is the plough. In some areas, this is the first day of ploughing in preparation of the first planting of crops. A decorated plough is dragged from door to door, with costumed children following asking for food, drinks, or money. Should they be refused, the household is paid back by having its front garden ploughed up. In other areas, the plough is decorated and then Whiskey, the "water of life" is poured over it. Pieces of cheese and bread are left by the plough and in the newly turned furrows as offerings to the nature spirits. It is considered taboo to cut or pick plants during this time.

Various other names for this Greater Sabbat are Imbolgc Brigantia (Caledonni), Imbolic (Celtic), Disting (Teutonic, Feb 14th), Lupercus (Strega), St. Bridget's Day (Christian), Candlemas, Candlelaria (Mexican), the Snowdrop Festival. The Festival of Lights, or the Feast of the Virgin. All Virgin and Maiden Goddesses are honored at this time.

Cold and Windy!

I am sitting here trying to stay warm, the apartment is warm however the sound of the howling winds and the threat of a storm is not comforting knowing that in 2 hours I will have to warm up my suv to drive Fran to work then come home and try and organize enough for the cable guys to come in and do their magic so we have TV in the new place.

I have never been a fan of winter, I know it serves a purpose for everything to be dormant before spring, but I hate the idiots that have forgotten how to drive in it or the newer drivers who have NEVER driven in it before to be on the roads when I am.

Goddess, keep me and mine safe while travelling on the roads and sidewalks.
Protect us from harm as we go about our daily lives.
So Mote It Be.

Ready for the next Phase of my Life to begin! This is a serious post.

At some point a person has to decide they have had enough alone time.
I love my family, friends, kids, job, cats and at most times, my life but I have had enough of being a single parent, Mom and woman.
I am in a place in my life where I wonder if in my past lives if I was an adulterer or adulteress, my relationships either end due to lack of emotional commitment from him or although I give my trust, heart, life I get cheated on and it is not for a lack of, well you know what I mean. :)
I would like to find a man who is honest, has a purpose in his life, a JOB, teeth *you have no idea*, and knows what it is he wants out of this life we live even if he isn't 'there' yet.
I wonder if there is anyone out there for me sometimes, I have thought that I had found 'THE' one for me, however we were too young but are good friends after many years apart.
Then I met and married another I thought was my life partner, after we had our children he became distant and just not there for any of us.
Then I met Tom who 'said' all the 'right' things to me and I fell head over heals. Although others saw and some even told me he was a big cheater and lair, I just didn't see it as I was not ready to be 'alone' as a woman.
Then after a few years I decided I was ready to move on and I met Fred, we started as friends and ended falling deeply in love. We blended our families together and the kids even started calling each other brothers, then after a couple of years of what seemed like a blissful relationship, he cheated on me and left me for her.
That broke my heart in so many pieces it has taken me years to heal.
Thanks to my family, friends and my belief that things happen for a reason, that we create a lot of the drama in our lives and we follow patterns from past lives I have said ENOUGH! I deserve to be happy, I deserve to feel safe and I DESERVE to love and feel love again.
I would LOVE to have a 'LOVE' like my Parents, my sister, my grandparents and like others who deeply love each other and are surely each other's PARTNER!
So, if you know anyone you think deserves to have me in their life, I will gladly start very slow with email and phone calls LOL cousins, COME ON you must know someone LOL
I pray that God and Goddess bless me with someone to be my life partner who will be good to my kids and grandson, will be able to interact with my friends and family and be supportive and loving to me and mine.
OK that is all, I just needed to see it in writing and put it out there for my soul to find who I am suppose to live the rest of my life with.
Bright Blessings to all who read this and think, OMG she has lost her ever loving mind!

A Blessed Samhain/Halloween to All!

This is the first Samhain that I have had to work since finding my spiritual calling and I am very sad and disappointed, but at least I have a job!
May you all remember those in your life that have passed onto their next life, think about the past year and keep close to your heart the things you want to do differently in this next turn of the wheel and if your little one's are trick or treating, keep them safe and warm!
